The observational sites in the Lesina Lagoon are the result of a collaboration between IRBIM CNR Ancona’s Observational Technologies Group and IRBIM CNR’s Marine Ecology Group in Hvar, and include a climatological station and a meteo-lagoon station. The weather station is located on the terrace of the Institute’s headquarters about 20 meters away from the southwestern shore of the lagoon, at a height of about 18 m above the ground, and has been active since the late 1990s. The station was updated in March 2011 and produces data at 10-minute intervals. Data on wind speed and direction, air temperature, relative humidity, atmospheric pressure, precipitation and solar radiation are constantly collected.
