Technical Collaborator

Fabrizio Moro has been collaborating with the CNR-IRBIM office in Ancona since 2015. Supports Institute ICT activities by performing the following tasks: implementation and management of IT security activities; management of Institute backup plan and disaster recovery processes; administration and maintenance of Windows and Linux based server, networking and management infrastructure; support for management of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File server; multi-DBMS dataserver administration; help desk activities and multi-level staff support. Participates in the IRBIM Data Protection Working Group as a figurehead for cybersecurity. He is responsible for the development and implementation of the institutional website and coordination of the working group.
In the scientific field, he currently collaborates in the activity of environmental/oceanographic data acquisition, implementation and management of meteo-oceanographic observational platforms. He has participated in national and international research projects, with focus in software/hardware development (also using Low Cost IoT solutions) for scientific data collection, analysis and quality control. He is also involved in the development of RDMBS and graphical-web interfaces for the collection, visualization and dissemination of time series and scientific data. He has participated in several oceanographic campaigns, including as a mission leader. He has co-authored scientific articles and research reports.

The research activities of the Institute are carried out in the context of research, development and innovation projects, both national and international, based on regional funding programs (POR FEAMPA - Regional Operational Program of the European Maritime Affairs Fisheries Fund and Aquaculture and POR FESR - Regional Operational Program of the European Regional Development Fund) or ministerial (PRIN - Projects of relevant national interest, PNRA - National Research Program in Antarctica, PO FEAMPA - National Operational Program European Maritime Affairs Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund) , programs for European Territorial Cooperation (Interreg), direct funding programs of the European Commission (Horizon2020 and Horizon Europe, Life, JPI - Joint Programming Initiatives, ERA-NET Cofund) and thematic collaboration initiatives managed by international organizations such as, for example , the FAO - GFCM (General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean). The Institute also develops funded projects in the context of collaborations with private companies in the sectors of the blue economy as well as technology transfer and research results. Research projects, mainly of a collaborative nature, are developed through a wide network of partners that include major Italian and foreign research institutions and universities.
