Simposio sul Cambiamento della biodiversità nell’Antropocene

A moment of meeting, exchange of knowledge and perspectives to enhance and promote synergies in the national context of biodiversity research.

On 10 and 11 April 2024, the symposium “Changing Biodiversity in the Anthropocene: Priorities in Research” was successfully held at the Fano Marine Center. The event saw the participation of numerous experts in the field of biodiversity, both terrestrial and aquatic, from all over Italy.

The symposium represented an important opportunity for discussion and exchange of knowledge on the crucial issue of biodiversity change in the context of the Anthropocene. The contributions presented made it possible to convey key messages on the challenges and priorities of research in Italy and in the Mediterranean region, with the aim of promoting synergies and collaborations at national level.

The symposium consisted of three sessions:

  1. Examples of change;
  2. The predictions of change;
  3. The tools, actions and management of change;

In addition to these, there is a session dedicated to PhD students funded and co-funded by the CNR.

The symposium was organized by the CNR “Biodiversity” Working Group and the CNR-IRBIM of Ancona in collaboration with the Fano Marine Center, LifeWatch Italia and the National Biodiversity Future Center.
