Aquatic Pollutants Poster Prize
Cofund Aquatic Pollutants 2023
Naomi Massaccesi, FIshMed PhD student, won the “Best poster prize at the Mid-term meeting of Cofund Aquatic Pollutants”, Madrid, Spain with the work titled “Antibiotic resistance in the marine environment and in aquaculture settings: sources, sinks and pathways”. The research focuses on the increasingly relevant global issue of antibiotic resistance, with particular interest in the aquaculture sector. Where do antibiotic-resistant bacteria in these environments come from? Are there accumulations of resistance? What are the pathways of spread? These are all questions that need to be answered.
