Specific objectives of the project are:<br \/>\n&#8211; reduction in bycatch of many threatened elasmobranchs, critically endangered, endangered and vulnerable species, during professional fishing activities;<br \/>\n&#8211; reduction in mortality of threatened elasmobranchs during professional fishing activities;<br \/>\n&#8211; elimination of catches for the endangered shark Carcharhinus plumbeus caused by trawling in Lampione Island waters;<br \/>\n&#8211; reduction of incidental catch and collisions and anthropogenic disturbance on the endangered basking shark, Cetorhinus maximus, in the North Sardinian Sea;<br \/>\n&#8211; implementation of appropriate conservation measures with ecosystem approach to fisheries through the preparation and adoption of specific local management plans;<br \/>\n&#8211; support management authorities for shark conservation and management policies in IT and CY by providing more recent and in-depth data for environmental status assessment and implementing activities consistent with a management plan for this species.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","project_program":[],"categoria_progetti":[],"class_list":["post-11427","progetto-dettagli","type-progetto-dettagli","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.irbim.cnr.it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/progetto-dettagli\/11427","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.irbim.cnr.it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/progetto-dettagli"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.irbim.cnr.it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/progetto-dettagli"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.irbim.cnr.it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=11427"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"project_program","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.irbim.cnr.it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/project_program?post=11427"},{"taxonomy":"categoria_progetti","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.irbim.cnr.it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categoria_progetti?post=11427"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
