The project aims to develop new technical and organizational knowledge aimed at a more sustainable use of biological resources, aimed at the reduction of bycatch and greater selectivity of fishing gear, for the purpose of drafting a Regional Fishing Regulation in the inland waters of the Lesina Lagoon.<\/p>\n
Specific objectives of the project are:
\n1. conduct an updated analysis of the characteristics of species richness, abundance of the fish community present in the lagoon, also in relation to the type of gear and methods used;
\n2. identify the most depleted areas in species of commercial interest that can potentially be repopulated with bycatch (maintained live in an open-loop, environmentally friendly, semi-underground tank facility), determining how fishery discards can result in positive effects on ecosystem services in the lagoon;
\n3. assess the microbiota associated with the main lagoon fish species and its possible role on the safety and quality of the lagoon fish resources;
\n4. introduce more effective fishing techniques that are more selective for both species and size.<\/p>\n
