The project, funded by ENI S.p.A, aims to verify the possible impact resulting from the presence, installation or removal of offshore extraction platforms and\/or pipelines on the biotic and abiotic components of the marine environment. This is a multidisciplinary research program that is based on scientific activities toward investigating the water column, planktonic communities, sediments, the presence of pollutants and biomarkers in marine organisms, the benthic community and fish populations. Environmental risk analysis, marine mammal and reptile sightings, and MMO activities are also performed. The project is being carried out under an RTI formed by the Lead Partner OGS of Trieste and the partners CNR IRBIM, Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn of Naples, SHELTER S.r.l. of Milan, CIBM of Livorno, UNIVPM of Ancona, and AGROLAB Ambiente S.r.l of Carrara.<\/p>\n
