In 2003 some fishing vessels were equipped with semi-automatic systems for the collection of data useful for fishery biology and oceanography (<em>Fishery Observing System<\/em>; <a style=\"text-decorations: none; color: inherit;\" href=\"http:\/\/doi.org\/10.5194\/os-3-189-2007\"><strong>Falco et al 2007<\/strong><\/a>; <a style=\"text-decorations: none; color: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1111\/fog.12126\"><strong>Carpi et al 2015<\/strong><\/a>; <a style=\"text-decorations: none; color: inherit;\" href=\"http:\/\/dx.doi.org\/10.1016\/j.jmarsys.2016.03.002\"><strong>Aydo\u011fdu et al 2016<\/strong><\/a>; <a style=\"text-decorations: none; color: inherit;\" href=\"http:\/\/dx.doi.org\/10.1080\/1755876X.2015.1114808\"><strong>Sparnocchia et al 2016<\/strong><\/a>; <a style=\"text-decorations: none; color: inherit;\" href=\"http:\/\/doi.org\/10.1016\/j.marpol.2018.09.031\"><strong>Lucchetti et al 2018<\/strong><\/a>). Since 2012 the modular FOOS system allows to collect and send in near real-time to an on-land datacenter more environmental parameters with greater precision and to send back on board information (<strong><a style=\"text-decorations: none; color: inherit;\" href=\"http:\/\/dx.doi.org\/10.1080\/1755876X.2015.1120961\">Patti et al 2016<\/a><\/strong>; <a style=\"text-decorations: none; color: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/dx.doi.org\/10.1016\/j.oceaneng.2015.10.037\"><strong>Martinelli et al 2016<\/strong><\/a>).   The AdriFOOS datacenter receives daily datasets recorded along the water column and near the seabed, GPS tracks, catch quantity per haul, size of the species caught and meteorological information (<a style=\"text-decorations: none; color: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/essd.copernicus.org\/articles\/15\/3513\/2023\/\"><strong>Penna et al. 2023<\/strong><\/a>). Under different access levels, <a style=\"text-decorations: none; color: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/foosweb.irbim.cnr.it\/\"><strong>Web services<\/strong><\/a> (e.g. username: foosample, password: fsA@23.mp) allow to perform quality controls and manage the data, partly directly accessible also through international portals such as <a style=\"text-decorations: none; color: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.emodnet-ingestion.eu\/submissions\/submissions_details.php?menu=39&amp;tpd=1594&amp;step_more=11\"><strong>EMODnet<\/strong><\/a>. AdriFOOS serves as a platform for validation and demonstration of new generation sensors designed to be used on fishing vessels (<a style=\"text-decorations: none; color: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/zenodo.org\/records\/10909202\"><strong>Martinelli et al. 2023<\/strong><\/a>;<strong> <a style=\"text-decorations: none; color: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/zenodo.org\/records\/14260995\">2024<\/a><\/strong>), contributes to the definition of international best practices (<a style=\"text-decorations: none; color: inherit;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nexosproject.eu\/sites\/default\/files\/170831-NXS-WPX_D.9.3-v.1.4_29082017_Final.pdf\"><strong>Sparnocchia et al 2017<\/strong><\/a>; <strong><a style=\"text-decorations: none; color: inherit;\" href=\"http:\/\/dx.doi.org\/10.25607\/OBP-898\">M\u00f6ller et al 2019<\/a><\/strong>; <a style=\"text-decorations: none; color: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3389\/fmars.2020.485512\"><strong>Van Vranken et al 2020<\/strong><\/a>) and is part of the Fishing Vessel Ocean Observing Network (FVON; <a style=\"text-decorations: none; color: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3389\/fmars.2023.1176814\"><strong> Van Vranken et al. 2023<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","class_list":["post-10137","inf-dettagli","type-inf-dettagli","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.irbim.cnr.it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/inf-dettagli\/10137","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.irbim.cnr.it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/inf-dettagli"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.irbim.cnr.it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/inf-dettagli"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.irbim.cnr.it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=10137"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
