The event kicked off with the institutional greetings of the Director of the DSSTTA CNR Department, Fabio Trincardi, and the Directors Rosalia Santoleri and Marco Faimali, respectively for ISMAR and IAS. Subsequently, the Director of IRBIM, Gian Marco Luna, definied the transition year, outlining the main future trajectories of the Institute. Among the invited speakers, we had the pleasure of hosting <strong><a style=\"color: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.icm.csic.es\/en\/staff\/pere-puig-alenya-1633\">Pere Puig<\/a><\/strong> (ICM CSIC Barcelona), who presented a speech entitled <em>&#8220;Bottom trawling impacts on deep-sea sediments&#8221;,<\/em> and <strong><a style=\"color: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/scholar.google.it\/citations?user=zdXIr1AAAAAJ&amp;hl=it\">Emanuela Fanelli<\/a><\/strong> (Polytechnic University of Marche, Ancona), who discussed <em>&#8220;Shedding light in the dark: ecosystem services, threats and priority areas for conservation in the deep Mediterranean Sea&#8221;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Among the IRBIM staff members who presented their reports are: <\/span><strong><a style=\"color: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irbim.cnr.it\/personale-utente\/martinelli-michela\/\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Michela Martinelli<\/span><\/a><\/strong> <span lang=\"EN-US\">with <em>&#8220;Nautilos: New approach to underwater technologies for innovative, low-cost ocean observation&#8221;,<\/em> <\/span><strong><a style=\"color: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irbim.cnr.it\/personale-utente\/ferra-vega-carmen\/\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Carmen Ferr\u00e0<\/span><\/a><\/strong> <span lang=\"EN-US\">with <em>&#8220;Ecoscope: Ecocentric management for sustainable fisheries and healthy marine ecosystems&#8221;,<\/em> <strong><a style=\"color: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irbim.cnr.it\/personale-utente\/tassetti-anna-nora\/\">Nora Tassetti<\/a><\/strong> with <em>&#8220;Integration of AIS data in fishery research&#8221;,<\/em> and <strong><a style=\"color: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irbim.cnr.it\/personale-utente\/marini-mauro\/\">Mauro Marini<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a style=\"color: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irbim.cnr.it\/personale-utente\/pierluigi-penna\/\">Pierluigi Penna<\/a><\/strong> with <em>&#8220;Quality of bathing waters in coastal areas: insights from the Watercare project&#8221;.<\/em> Finally, <strong><a style=\"color: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irbim.cnr.it\/personale-utente\/damen-manuela\/\">Manuela D&#8217;Amen<\/a><\/strong> spoke about <em>&#8220;Invasive species and native biodiversity: spatial tools to anticipate the ongoing transformation of Mediterranean Resources&#8221;.<\/em> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>The poster session was followed by the presentation of the talks dedicated to IRBIM communication: <strong><a style=\"color: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/publications.cnr.it\/authors\/marco.ferrazzoli\">Marco Ferrazzoli<\/a><\/strong> (CNR Press Office Manager) spoke about the activities of the CNR Press Office, while <strong><a style=\"color: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irbim.cnr.it\/personale-utente\/baldrighi-elisa\/\">Elisa Baldrighi<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a style=\"color: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irbim.cnr.it\/personale-utente\/basili-marco\/\">Marco Basili<\/a><\/strong> (IRBIM Social Media Group) illustrated the presence of the Institute on the main social media, such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The day continued with a session on <i>&#8220;IRBIM &amp; Funding for Research&#8221;,<\/i> with speeches by <strong><a style=\"color: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irbim.cnr.it\/personale-utente\/fanelli-andrea\/\">Andrea Fanelli<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a style=\"color: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irbim.cnr.it\/personale-utente\/pinat-massimiliano\/\">Massimiliano Pinat<\/a><\/strong> (IRBIM Project Office) on <i>&#8220;Insert coin: funding CNR IRBIM research&#8221;.<\/i> After the coffee break, space was given to the <em>&#8220;Highlights from IRBIM science (Part 2)&#8221;<\/em> with the intervention of <strong><a style=\"color: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irbim.cnr.it\/personale-utente\/arneri-enrico\/\">Enrico Arneri<\/a><\/strong> on <em>&#8220;Data Collection Framework and National Fisheries Data Collection Program&#8221;,<\/em> with a focus on the implications for the fisheries management of the Mediterranean and on the future prospects for a strategic project of IRBIM.
