Pardini

Associate with Collaboration Assignment

My name is Andrea Pardini, and I graduated in Marine Biology with a final grade of 110 cum laude out of 110 from the Polytechnic University of Marche in February 2025. My thesis was titled “Life-history traits of the starry ray (Raja asterias) in the upper-central Adriatic Sea”, supervised by Professor Emanuela Fanelli from the Polytechnic University of Marche. In addition, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a grade of 98 out of 110 from the
University of Pisa in July 2022. After my master’s degree, I completed a five-month internship in Honduras focused on studying a coral disease, Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease, at a research center on the island of Roatan. The Bay Islands Conservation Association (BICA) allowed me to work daily with corals, both theoretically—by studying their structure, characteristics, and different species—and in the field, through the management of the center’s coral nursery. In addition to my academic background, I have gained practical work experience. I spent one month at the Shark Research Center, where I was involved in tank management and in studying the behavior and feeding habits of small elasmobranchs such as the spiny dogfish and the small-spotted catshark. I am a native Italian speaker, fluent in English (B2 level), and I am currently studying Spanish
