She graduated in Marine Biology from the Polytechnic University of Marche, where she investigated the trophic ecology of the Mediterranean starry ray (Raja asterias) in the central Adriatic Sea through stomach-content and nitrogen and carbon stable-isotope analyses. She is currently a research fellow at CNR-IRBIM in Ancona in the field of marine microbial ecology, carrying out seawater sampling and analyses for environmental monitoring. Prior to her current position, she worked as a research fellow at the same institute in the field of fisheries sustainability, contributing to projects focused on the development of low-impact fishing gears and the reduction of fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions in commercial fisheries. She has also participated in oceanographic surveys and biological and marine-litter sampling activities, collecting and analysing biological, environmental, and technical-operational data. Before joining CNR-IRBIM, she worked as a research fellow at UNIVPM, assessing the effects of bioremediation techniques on contaminated marine sediments. Committed to continuous training and professional development, she has contributed to scientific publications and technical-scientific reports, as well as to scientific outreach and research communication activities.
